We have stayed in this nicely presented hotel for 2 nights, everything was superb, the location was decent right along the York race course. The room was kept very clean and available with coffee and fantastic view of the racecourse, for instance. Well-trained and responsive employees from one member of the staff and kept the venue perfectly clean.

Excellent welcome on arrival and service from all reception and waiting staff. Housekeepers also smiling and efficient. Sophia gave us clear choice of rooms around wedding disco due Sunday and sound went off bang on 12.00 as promised. Marcion made us feel exceptionally welcome in the restaurant and bar and was an oustanding ambassador for the Marriott brand. Super-king bed very comfortable - good for tall husband.
Spa treatments under-promoted. Leisure reception not always staffed. Pool too small for fitness swimming and changing/showering space much, much too small. Horrified to find boy of 9-10 years old in women's changing room with his mother. Staff must ensure rules of what is acceptable are made clear to users. Shuttle service into York would be a good idea, help to reduce car use and lessen demand for parking.

The beds were very clean, the rooms were recently refurbished and air conditioned with a terrace, everything was very comfortable. The hotel was top-class and recently renovated and the in-house restaurant was really nice.

location next to york races
no room ready at 5.0pm. when given room somebody elses bags in room not worth 215 pounds a night you expect alot more luxury i think we paid for the name marriot

The fact that they supplied Soya milk Comfortable double Room for single traveller
The pool was not available for use during my stay

We were on our 1st anniversary and the hotel staff left us a lovely congratulation not and a small box of chocolates. Marriott beds are extremely comfortable and the room was a good size.
TV reception was awful so unfortunately didn't get to watch any Sunday morning TV.
